The AI assistant

How a draft comes about, why it must be reread, and what the guardrail checks.

The assistant writes Story drafts: it takes a Source's record and proposes a title, text and angle. It does not compose narrations and does not decide sequences.

It is found in New Story starting from a Source, in the panel beside the material.

A draft is not finished material

Every Story carries its provenance written on it:

  • Written by a person
  • AI draft, to be reviewed
  • AI draft reviewed and accepted

The move from the second to the third state is made by a person, and it stays on record with name and date. On an institutional delivery, the question «who wrote this sentence» must have an answer even two years from now.

The guardrail on figures

Every number in the generated text is compared with the Source's record. If a figure appears that is not in the record, it is flagged — not deleted: the decision stays with whoever rereads it.

It is the check that matters more than all the others. A model that writes +3 °C where the record says +2 °C produces a perfectly plausible sentence, and nobody notices it when rereading in a hurry. A style error you can see; a wrong figure you cannot.

Statements without numbers still have to be reread by hand: the guardrail checks the figures, not the facts.

If the panel says the assistant is not configured

ANTHROPIC_API_KEY is missing from the server configuration. Everything else on the platform works all the same: the Story is written by hand.
